This inspection report concerns an investigation for registration of childminder/host parent care (gastouderopvang) with Mrs. A. Maliepaard-Romkes at Hilsdijk 29 in Hattem. The care takes place in the home of the requesting parent via host parent agency Gastouders 4 all kids and comprises 6 childcare places. The inspection was carried out by Municipal Health Service (GGD) Noord- en Oost-Gelderland on behalf of the municipality of Hattem. The host parent intends to provide care on Mondays and Tuesdays from 08:00 to 17:00 for 3 children aged 2, 4 and 6 years. During the investigation, several safety issues were identified that have since been addressed: a pond in the garden has been filled in and missing smoke detectors on the ground floor have since been installed. The host parent holds the required diploma, a valid first aid certificate and sufficient knowledge of the pedagogical policy and the child abuse reporting protocol. The risk assessment is up to date and the accommodation meets the requirements. A backup care arrangement has been made for emergencies.
