Kiddie is independent and works across organizations, which provides us with interesting insights in the sector. We conduct in-depth research among parents, providers and in our own database. We are happy to share the insights from the research to contribute to development and progress in the sector.

Use of GGD reports among parents

Kiddie conducted a survey among (expectant) parents to better understand how they currently use the GGD report. The majority (56%) of parents do not read the report. Some (22%) only read the main points, the remaining 22% read it thoroughly. Parents who have read the report, thoroughly or on main points, indicate that the report was a factor in their choice for a location. Only 28% know what the LRK is and what they can use it for. These are both parents who read the report thoroughly and those who read it on main points.

Regional insights and trends GGD report results

Kiddie has conducted research on all GGD reports since 2024. In this research we looked at regional trends and differences. This gives us insight into the number of violations, the type of violations and the difference between years, municipalities or provinces.

Childcare centers closed in the week of 22-26 June 2026

In the week of 22 June 2026, Europe was gripped by a historic heatwave. Many schools and childcare centers (partially) closed their doors to safeguard the safety of children. Kiddie conducted research into the number of locations that closed by means of a survey among parents and interviews with childcare organizations. This showed that 68% of locations remained open as usual, 22% closed for a full day and 10% for part of a day.
