About this care
At Swazoom Kinderopvang, we offer a warm and stimulating environment for children from 0 to 12 years old. We have more than 23 locations in Amsterdam Zuidoost, and we take pride in our focus on both daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) services and after-school care (BSO). For children aged 4 to 12, we provide a safe place for both before- and after-school care, including during school holidays and teacher training days.
Our pedagogical approach focuses on learning through play, offering activities that promote children's fine motor skills and creativity. Think of fun craft projects like decorating oranges with cloves, which is not only enjoyable but also contributes to the development of hand-eye coordination. We believe every child is unique and provide an environment where they can develop at their own pace.
At Swazoom, we place great value on quality. All of our locations received the 'complaint-free' certificate from the Disputes Committee in 2023, underscoring our commitment to high-quality care. Summary
Preschool Hoky Poky 1&2 in Amsterdam provides care for children aged 2 to 4 years in two groups of up to 15 children each. The inspection on 9 October 2025 identified one violation: on 1 October 2025, an uncertified childcare professional without a VVE certificate and insufficient language proficiency was alone with a group, meaning the required ratio of 1 VVE-qualified childcare professional per 8 children was not met. The staff member has since passed the language test and will start the VVE training in January; she will not be deployed alone until all requirements have been met. No recovery offer was made due to these measures already taken. The pedagogical practice is otherwise positive: the team works according to the Pyramid program, offers a rich play and learning environment, actively involves parents (theme evenings, play sessions, transition to primary school De Achtsprong), and uses the child tracking system KIJK!. All staff members have a valid diploma and Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG); the premises are safe and thematically arranged. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality not to enforce action due to the organization's responsible choices, but states that the municipal VVE subsidy determination should take the identified shortcoming into account.
