About this care
Welcome to KDV-Verkenners Hogevecht, our daycare centre located at Hogevecht 138C in Amsterdam. We provide care for 44 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided into three horizontal core groups: baby group Dombo (0-1.5 years), toddler group Horton (1.5-3 years) and preschool group Tantor (2-4 years). Each group has its own qualified staff member and age-specific environment.
Our pedagogical approach centres on offering children a safe, familiar setting in which they can develop freely. We use the Piramide programme: a playful, effective and evidence-based learning curriculum that aligns with national early childhood education (VVE) standards. For children aged 2 to 4 we provide structured preschool activities, supported by our VVE-coach who spends at least 100 hours per year on the group.
Healthy nutrition is a priority. Every day we serve breakfast, a hot lunch, fruit and dairy, freshly prepared in our own kitchen. We ensure variety and nutritional value, and bottle-feeding or dietary adaptations are always negotiable.
