About this care
Kaleidoscoop Campus is our integrated after-school care facility, located in the same bright and colorful building as Kaleidoscoop primary school at Van Swindensingel 66 in Schiedam-Oost. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12 who attend Kaleidoscoop primary school.
Our spaces are seamlessly integrated within the school building, allowing children to safely join us directly after school. We share the natural playground with the school, a green outdoor area developed in collaboration with the municipality and local residents, offering ample opportunities for discovery play and nature experiences.
Our team is ready to provide children with a pleasant and challenging time after school. We organize various activities including arts and crafts projects, sports and games, and outdoor activities utilizing the natural environment. Our care is focused on giving children space to develop into strong, independent young people through play and learning.
Kaleidoscoop Campus is part of KomKids and works closely with Kaleidoscoop primary school. This collaboration ensures a smooth transition from school to after-school care and vice versa. We are open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00.Read more

Summary
The GGD inspection report dated 26 February 2026 concerns an unannounced incidental investigation at Kaleidoscoop Campus, an after-school care (BSO) in Schiedam for children aged 4 to 13. The operator, Kom kids Kinderopvang B.V., submitted an application to increase the number of childcare places from 22 to 33. The inspection assessed whether this expansion is possible without compromising quality requirements. All evaluated components — pedagogical policy, safety and health policy, and space requirements — were found to be in order. The additional group of 11 children will be accommodated in a new space of 79 m². The total indoor space comes to 130 m², which is sufficient according to the standard of 3.5 m² per child. The outdoor play space (school playground and play area opposite the center) also meets the requirements. The GGD advises the municipality of Schiedam to grant the amendment in the National Childcare Register.
