Summary

Kindercentrum Hoepla in Berkel en Rodenrijs, part of Smallsteps B.V., was inspected by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond on 10 February 2026. The annual inspection covered 32 childcare places for children aged 0 to 4 years. All inspected quality requirements were found to be in order: pedagogical policy and practice, Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG-verklaringen) and personnel register, qualification requirements, staffing levels, safety and health policy, domestic violence reporting protocol, and complaints handling. The pedagogical practice demonstrated sensitive, responsive guidance with attention to emotional safety and social competence. One staff member is still completing the mandatory training for working with children under one year of age, but works under the supervision of a qualified colleague. No violations were identified. The GGD advises the municipality of Lansingerland not to take enforcement measures.
