DONS Oscar Carré is located at the Openbare Basisschool Oscar Carré on Eerste Jan van der Heijdenstraat 161 in Amsterdam. As part of DONS Opvang B.V., we have been providing after-school care for over ten years with a unique focus on expression and creative development.
Our BSO is open Monday through Friday from 14:30 to 18:30. On study and vacation days, we are open from 8:00 to 18:30. We work with a team of experienced art and movement teachers who create wonderful adventures after school. We believe in the connecting power of expression and let children look at themselves and the world with an open mind.
At DONS Oscar Carré, we pick up the children directly from school, so parents can work or study without worry. On vacation days and study days, we provide lunch, drinks and snacks for all attending children. Our approach focuses on stimulating creativity and self-expression through artistic activities and movement forms.

Summary
DONS Oscar Carré is an after-school care facility (buitenschoolse opvang/BSO) in Amsterdam for up to 66 children from primary school Oscar Carré. The unannounced annual inspection on 27 May 2026 found that all assessed quality requirements are met. The BSO works with a core team of 13 permanent, higher-educated 'DONS teachers' who offer activities in drama, dance, music, visual arts, and movement. The pedagogical practice is strong: children are cared for in an emotionally safe environment, there is a fixed daily routine with rituals, and the activities stimulate multiple developmental areas. Parents are well informed and involved through the website, and daily and block closing sessions. All staff members hold a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag) and are registered in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang). The pedagogical policy worker coaches all staff members both individually and in groups. No violations or areas for improvement were identified.
