About this care
DONS Scholekster is our after-school care (BSO) location at Karel du Jardinstraat 76 in Amsterdam-Zuid. We share the building with 9th Montessori School De Scholekster, allowing children to join us safely and seamlessly right after school. The location has a capacity of 140 children and has been registered in the National Childcare Register under number 192417782 since 25 January 2012.
We are open from 15:00 to 18:30 on regular after-school days and remain closed on Wednesdays. Since 3 June 2024 parents can use our new DONS Parent App via donsopvang.ouderportaal.nl to request extra days, swap days and communicate with us directly.

Summary
DONS Scholekster is an after-school care (BSO) facility in Amsterdam-Zuid with 100 childcare places, located in primary school De Scholekster. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 27 February 2025. All assessed quality requirements (pedagogical climate, staff, group stability and parental rights) are fully complied with. The team offers a creative activity programme tailored to the children's age and interests; during the visit, the theme 'celebration' was central, with creative and social activities. Outdoor play and rituals strengthen group cohesion. All staff hold the required qualifications, Certificates of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent Gedrag) and meet the language requirement. Coaching and policy development are well established. Parents are informed via website and app; complaints handling is arranged. The parent committee currently has one member; the organisation is actively recruiting new members to reach the mandatory minimum of three. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipality is advised to take note of this report only.
