About this care
Kindercentrum ’t Molentje is located at Schoolstraat 1 in Sint-Philipsland and has been the trusted childcare centre for Tholen and the surrounding area since 2013. We provide after-school care (BSO) for children aged 4 to 13 who attend primary school. Our small-scale facility accommodates up to 28 children, allowing us to give each child personal attention. Our experienced childcare professionals guide children with homework, organise fun activities and ensure a safe and homely atmosphere.
We work with a clear vision: playing, discovering and learning are central. Our location is designed as a warm nest where children can develop at their own pace. We offer both before-school care (VSO) and after-school care, and are also open during study days and school holidays. Our opening hours are from 06:30 to 18:00, so parents can use our care flexibly.
For communication with parents we use Bitcare childcare software, through which we share daily photos and reports. We work together with primary schools in Sint-Philipsland and the surrounding area, including OBS De Luyster, to ensure a smooth transition from school to after-school care. Summary
GGD Zeeland inspected the after-school care (BSO) of Kindercentrum 't Molentje in Sint Philipsland on 16-10-2025. The annual unannounced inspection assessed three themes: pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and parental rights. All rules under the theme 'staff and groups' were complied with immediately; all staff are correctly registered, hold a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and meet qualification requirements. Violations were identified for 'pedagogical policy' and 'information to parents': mentorship was not carried out in accordance with policy, the policy for the combined group was incomplete in parts, and parents were shown an outdated policy document via the website. The supervisor issued a recovery offer for these violations. The operator accepted this, submitted revised policy and work plans, and published the current document; all violations have since been remedied. The pedagogical practice could not be assessed as no BSO children were present during the visit. The municipality of Tholen is advised not to take enforcement action.
