Woest Zuid Jaap Eden is the place for children from 7 years old, located at the Jaap Eden Ice Rink on Radioweg 64 in Amsterdam East. Here children discover the fun of movement and outdoor play. Our programme is all about sports and adventure, giving every child the chance to burn off energy after school and learn new skills. The setting is cool and small-scale, fitted out with challenging play equipment and a spacious outdoor area. We have room for up to 20 children, so personal attention is guaranteed. Our enthusiastic team of pedagogical staff guide the kids as they explore their talents and make new friends. Woest Zuid Jaap Eden is an after-school care location (BSO) at Radioweg 64 in Amsterdam offering a maximum of 20 places for children aged 7 to 12. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 7 February 2025. All quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate, staffing, group stability and safety policy are met; the report has been approved. Key strengths include the clear pedagogical policy with a mentor per child, structured development meetings, good guidance of social interaction and emotional safety, and sufficient qualified staff (2 staff members for 11 children). There were no violations. A previous irregularity — structural use of an unregistered scouting building — was discussed; the organisation has committed to using this building only occasionally for activities and no longer for full-time care. No recovery offer was needed. The GGD advises the municipality to take note of the report without further enforcement action.
