Peuterspeelzaal De Ballon is a Vlietkinderen location at Fransstraat 16 in Voorburg. We provide toddler care and pre-school education (VE) for children aged 2 to 4 years. In our small-scale group we welcome up to 16 children to play and learn. We use a horizontal group structure, bringing children together in age groups. Our team of pedagogical staff guide the children in their development and provide a safe and stimulating environment. Parents can visit our Play and Parenting Point for advice and to borrow toys. We are registered in the National Childcare Register and work according to the quality standards of the Education Inspectorate.

Kindercentrum Ballon in Voorburg, part of Stichting Vlietkinderen, is a toddler playgroup (peuterspeelzaal) for a maximum of 16 children aged 2-4 years with early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE). The inspection of 4 November 2025 identified two violations. Regarding pedagogical policy, it was found that not all children had a mentor, despite this being described in the policy. Regarding early childhood education, one staff member did not meet the required 3F language proficiency level for reading and staff deployment was not in accordance with the rules (one VE-qualified staff member per eight children). Both violations have been resolved through a recovery offer: the mentor allocation has been corrected and the 3F reading certificate has since been obtained. A third violation concerned parental rights: for a price change, parents were not actively asked for advice, whilst there is no parent committee. The location otherwise meets all other quality requirements, including safety, health, and complaints handling.
