Summary

GGD West-Brabant conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 8 September 2026 at BSO Sonate in Etten-Leur, part of Smallsteps B.V. The location provides care for up to 68 children aged 4 to 13 years, divided across three groups. All assessed quality requirements have been met: pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and accommodation. The four pedagogical core objectives (emotional safety, personal and social competence, values and norms) are safeguarded. Staff hold the correct qualifications and Certificates of Conduct (VOG), the staff-to-child ratio is in order, and there is always someone with first aid (EHBO) certification present. The rooms meet the requirements (3.62 m² indoor space per child, more than sufficient outdoor space). No areas for improvement or violations were identified. In their response, the license holder indicated that they recognise the report and will continue to safeguard quality.
