About this care
Welcome to Mijn Blokje at Van Suchtelen van de Haarestraat 209 in Amsterdam Osdorp. Our daycare centre is housed in a spacious and bright building fully tailored to the needs of children aged 0 to 4. We provide care in horizontal groups: 1 baby group (0-1 year) with 8 places, 2 toddler groups (1-2.5 years) with 11 and 12 places, and 2 preschool groups (2.5-4 years) with 15 and 16 places. This allows us to align activities, rest periods and care exactly with your child's age and developmental stage.
Our team of experienced pedagogical staff follow the pedagogical methods of Thomas Gordon and Emmi Pikler. We guide children on the basis of equality and with respect for their individuality and feelings. We use active listening and I-messages in our communication, and give children space to move freely and develop at their own pace. We believe children learn best through play.
For the youngest children we have separate bedrooms with cribs and baby monitors. We follow the home rhythm as closely as possible and align feeding and sleeping times with your child's routine. We work with a parent committee and hold parent consultations to discuss your child's development. You can enrol your child for half or full days, depending on your needs.
Safety and hygiene are paramount. All staff hold a valid first-aid certificate and a Certificate of Good Conduct. We are open 52 weeks per year from Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm.Read more

The annual inspection of 4 June 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Mijn Blokje Osdorp in Amsterdam shows that the location meets all assessed quality requirements. This is a positive development, given the previous enforcement history with repeated violations and an intended operating ban in 2025. A Quality Coordinator is working on structural improvement of the pedagogical and safety policy. The pedagogical practice is good: children feel emotionally safe and are stimulated through play. Staff are sufficiently qualified and the groups are stable. However, the parent committee is too small with only 2 members for proper decision-making.
