About this care
Leutje BSO is a small-scale, creative after-school care centre located at Ypemaheerd 49 in the Beijum district of Groningen. We provide care for a maximum of 32 children per day, aged 4 to 12. By deliberately staying small, we can offer personal attention and maintain high quality.
Child participation is central to our approach: children actively help decide on the programme, layout, group rules and meals. This consultation boosts their self-confidence and independence. We believe children develop best when they have influence over their environment.
Our activities are both creative and educational. Technology, art and science are explored through fun experiments and projects using materials rarely found at home. We encourage an inquisitive attitude and let children choose what interests them, so their intellectual and creative development follows naturally.
Besides indoor activities, we regularly go out: sports and exercise, theatre performances, treasure hunts and, in winter, sledging at Kardinge. This way we combine a safe, homely base with plenty of variety and challenge.
Leutje BSO is part of child centre Leutje Laiverds and operates 52 weeks a year, Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 18:00. Flexible care is possible: from 06:30 or until 19:00 on request. We are closed on public holidays.Read more
