BSO De Pit Groningen is part of De PIT Groningen, a dynamic learning environment for children aged 0 to 14 located at Wibenaheerd 24 in Groningen. Our after-school care provides care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 13. We offer tailored care, placing the development of each child at the center. The location is housed in the same building as the primary school and other childcare facilities, ensuring a seamless transition between school and after-school care. We work closely with De PIT Groningen primary school, allowing children to continue seeing their school friends after school hours. Our pedagogical staff are ready to provide children with a safe, challenging, and enjoyable time after school. We offer a wide range of activities tailored to the interests and needs of the children. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspected BSO IKC de Pit in Groningen on 21 May 2026. The location provides care for up to 22 children aged 4-12. Overall, the care provision meets the quality requirements well. The pedagogical climate is positive: children feel safe, professionals correct unwanted behaviour adequately and follow children's initiatives. Staff are properly registered, hold the correct qualifications, and the staff-child ratio is in order. There was one violation: the provider insufficiently promoted knowledge and use of the reporting code for domestic violence and child abuse. A pedagogical professional who had been working since August 2025 had not received training on the reporting code. Following a recovery offer, the provider has taken measures, including supplementary training for staff and structural safeguarding through annual team meetings. The shortcoming has been resolved. The advice to the municipality is: no enforcement action.
