About this care
Kindergarden Haarlem Kennemerplein is located in a characteristic city villa directly opposite Haarlem railway station. The high windows create bright spaces and give this location a child-friendly atmosphere. Behind the building lies a park-like garden where children love to play and explore; the cosy baby garden borders the baby group.
We provide childcare from 2 months to 4 years in horizontal groups. We have 1 baby group (0-2 years), 1 toddler group (1-3 years) and 1 preschool group (2-4 years). Our spacious, green garden offers all children plenty of space to play and learn outdoors. We serve warm meals and healthy snacks. Diapers, wipes and care products from brands like Pampers, Naty, Naïf and Sudocrem are included in the price, as well as formula from Nutrilon, Hipp Bio and Pure Goat Company.
Our location is easily accessible and employs a pedagogical expert. We are open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30. Feel free to visit us for a tour and experience our approach firsthand.Read more

GGD Inspection
Improvements needed
Inspection date: February 4, 2026
Strengths
- Calm and relaxed atmosphere in all groups, with staff working at the children's level
- Sensitive-responsive caregiving for new children and those settling in
- Clear daily structure and routines
- Good guidance for new staff through a buddy system and structured onboarding program
- Housekeeping staff member with 14 years of continuity ensures healthy meals
- All childcare professionals meet qualification, language, and first aid training requirements
- Planned coaching and quality cycle for pedagogical development
Shortcomings
- Structural assurance of hygiene agreements for temporary staff (written checklist and visual reminders have been implemented)
- Extra attention needed for stability and direction given the new team composition and newly formed parent committee in startup phase
- Risk of maintaining the familiar faces criterion due to open vacancy in the toddler group and recent staff changes
Summary
Kindergarden Haarlem Kennemerplein is a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for children aged 0-4 years with 48 places in a standalone building in Haarlem. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Kennemerland conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 4 February 2026. The location meets all assessed quality requirements regarding pedagogical climate, staff and groups, and parental rights. The pedagogical practice shows a calm, safe atmosphere with sensitive-responsive caregiving. There are several points of attention: a completely new team since 2025/2026, an open vacancy in the toddler group, and an incident where a temporary staff member wore fake/press-on nails in violation of the hygiene protocol. The provider took immediate measures by introducing a written onboarding checklist and visual reminders. The parent committee has been renewed and is in a startup phase. No violations were identified and no recovery offer was made.
