Trema Kinderopvang Sleeuwijk Rijksstraatweg

Strengths

• Pedagogical climate is good: staff provide emotional security, structure and predictability
• Rich play-based learning environment with thematic working (for example 'Kiki is sick')
• Good stimulation of social competencies, such as turn-taking and cooperative play
• Early childhood education is well organised with a recognised programme
• Staff meet all qualification and language requirements
• Group sizes and staff-child ratios are in order
• Domestic violence and child abuse reporting code (melcode) is well organised

Shortcomings

• Ventilation system was not operational; a new system has been ordered and will be checked in the next inspection
• Parent committee temporarily has insufficient members; the provider must continue efforts to achieve full membership

Violations

• Safety and health: hand washing after nappy changing took place at the kitchen sink instead of at a separate facility near the changing table, in violation of hygiene guidelines (resolved after recovery offer)
• Parent committee: insufficient members, meaning the obligation to establish a full parent committee was not met (mitigating circumstances due to demonstrated efforts and alternative parent involvement)

Summary

The Municipal Health Service (GGD) West-Brabant conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 16 February 2026 at Trema Kinderopvang Sleeuwijk Rijksstraatweg, a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for a maximum of 48 children (0-4 years) run by Stichting Trema Kinderopvang. The location provides early childhood education. Overall, the childcare meets the statutory requirements well. The pedagogical climate and staff and groups were found to be in order. There were two points of attention: a violation regarding safety and health (hand hygiene after nappy changing) that was resolved through a recovery offer, and a violation regarding the absence of a full parent committee, which the GGD advises not to enforce due to mitigating circumstances.
