Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Blauwe Ballon in Purmerend provides care for a maximum of 55 children aged 0-4 years in four core groups. During the unannounced annual inspection visit on 17 July 2025, the quality of care was assessed across four main themes: pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and accommodation. The location was found to meet statutory requirements in all areas except one: the safety and health policy. The policy document stated that four staff members would be present during opening and closing times, but this was not the case in practice. Following a recovery offer, the operator adjusted the policy to reflect actual practice, thereby resolving the violation. The inspection further found that the pedagogical policy is well implemented, the staff-to-child ratio is in order, all staff members are correctly registered and qualified, and the premises are safely and appropriately arranged. The municipality is advised not to take enforcement action.
