About this care
BSO Calypso, operated by Stichting Avonturijn, is located on the grounds of St. Joris primary school at Hoflaan 4 in Borculo. We provide after-school care for up to 40 children aged 4 to 13. Our qualified staff collect children from all primary schools in Borculo at the end of the school day. We work in fixed, age-based horizontal groups where children can play and learn together.
At BSO Calypso, play and discovery are central. We offer a varied activity programme that includes arts & crafts, sports and games, and regular excursions in the local area. During school holidays and study days we are open all day from 07:30 to 18:30. On regular school days care starts right after school and ends at 18:30. Fruit and drinks are included.

Summary
BSO Calypso in Borculo, part of Stichting Avonturijn, provides after-school care (BSO) for up to 40 children aged 4–7. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) inspection of 23 June 2025 demonstrates that the location meets the statutory quality requirements across all assessed areas. No shortcomings or violations were identified. The pedagogical policy is clearly in place and is actively applied by the team. All staff hold the correct qualifications, Certificates of Good Conduct (VOGs), and are properly registered. Staffing levels are always sufficient; a minimum of two childcare workers are on duty and a functioning backup staffing arrangement is in place. The safety and health policy is up to date, risks have been mapped, and at least one adult is certified in paediatric first aid. The holder received no recovery offer as no violations were established. The municipality of Berkelland is advised not to take enforcement measures.
