About this care
Kidswereld Herengracht is located in the historic centre of Weesp, at Herengracht 17. Since January 1, 2017, we have provided daycare for up to 46 children aged 0 to 4. The location is part of Kidswereld B.V., an organisation that has offered professional childcare since 1988, focusing on small-scale, personal attention.
Our qualified pedagogical staff create a safe and warm environment where children can develop at their own pace. We use themes and a predictable daily rhythm so children always know what to expect. Nature is central to our approach: we go outside every day, preferably twice. Discoveries made outdoors are woven into indoor activities and conversations.
Our groups are small and vertically grouped, allowing children of different ages to learn from and inspire one another. We believe children thrive when they feel secure and are given space to be themselves; the child is always at the centre of our work.

Strengths
- The pedagogical climate is good: staff provide emotional security and create a nurturing environment
- All children have a mentor and child progress discussions take place regularly
- Staff actively stimulate children's language development and social skills
- The safety and health policy is well implemented, including measures for hot weather
- All employees hold a Certificate of Conduct (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag/VOG) and are registered in the Childcare Personnel Register (Personenregister Kinderopvang)
Violations
- Two employees (1 permanent staff member and 1 temporary substitute) did not meet the IKK language proficiency requirement
- Administration (schedules and attendance lists) did not match the actual situation on 29 June, 6 July and 7 July 2026
- Children from the Bidsprinkhaantjes group were cared for in the Kruisspinnetjes group on 4 occasions instead of their own core group
- On 3 occasions (30 June, 7 July and 8 July 2026), no adult with a valid first aid certificate was present between 17:45 and 18:30

Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Kidswereld Herengracht in Weesp was inspected unannounced on 9 July 2026 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Amsterdam. The location, part of Kidswereld B.V. with 16 locations, provides care for 46 children divided over 3 core groups (1 baby group and 2 toddler groups). The pedagogical climate was assessed positively: staff create emotional security, stimulate language development and guide social skills. However, 4 violations were identified: two employees did not meet the IKK language proficiency requirement, the administration did not match the actual situation, children were cared for in a different core group than their own, and there was not always an adult with a valid first aid certificate present. All violations were resolved following recovery offers. The provider drew up an action plan for each violation. The GGD advises the municipal executive not to impose measures.
