Peuterspeelzaal de Tandem

Peuterspeelzaal De Tandem is a brand-new, small-scale pre-school facility located on the grounds of IKC De Tandem at Weegpath 13 in Oud-Beijerland. Officially registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 November 2024 (LRK 916078358), we welcome up to 16 toddlers per session. As an accredited VE (pre-school education) site in the Hoeksche Waard, we enable parents with a referral from the child health clinic to claim the statutory 16 hours of pre-school education per week. We operate two fixed morning combinations: Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday. Our groups are horizontally structured, bringing together children of the same developmental stage to play and learn side by side. Each child’s progress is carefully tracked by our qualified staff using the digital observation tool ‘Kijk-Peuters’. Thanks to the seamless learning pathway shared with IKC De Tandem, the transition to primary school is smooth and familiar. Children enjoy a spacious, colourful indoor room as well as a safe, green outdoor playground shared with the school’s early-years classes. Indoors, creative activities such as drawing, crafting and construction are on offer daily, while outdoors the focus is on climbing, cycling, sand and water play, and exploring nature. Language and speech development are woven into every morning through storytelling, singing and themed conversations that connect with the toddlers’ world. We believe every child should feel safe and seen. Our approach is warm, predictable and stimulating: clear routines, consistent agreements and plenty of room for individual choice. Parents are actively involved through a dedicated parent committee and are always welcome to drop in for a chat or to see the group in action. In short, Peuterspeelzaal De Tandem is the place where toddlers grow through play and make the very best start on their journey to primary school.
