About this care
Peuteropvang De Wonderlamp is an anthroposophical toddler daycare located in the Prinsenland district of Rotterdam. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our unique character is expressed through our calm, natural play spaces where we exclusively use natural materials. The seasonal table changes with the rhythm of the year and the group features various corners including a home corner, construction corner and reading corner.
Our anthroposophical life philosophy means that every child is allowed to be who he or she is. We celebrate the annual festivals of St. John's, St. Martin's, Sinterklaas and Christmas with songs and table plays. Children play outdoors daily in our own enclosed playground within the natural Pietje Bell playground, where we utilize elements of sand, grass, trees and water.
We work exclusively with organic food and organize our mealtimes with attention and care. Our pedagogical staff regularly consult with teachers from the Rudolf Steiner School to ensure a continuous line for children transitioning from daycare to school. Peuteropvang De Wonderlamp provides daycare for a maximum of 16 children aged 0-4 years in Rotterdam. The inspection of 27 June 2025 shows that the location meets the quality requirements on virtually all aspects: the pedagogical policy is complete, the pedagogical practice was assessed as satisfactory during observations, staff are correctly registered, and safety and health provisions are in order. One violation was identified: on 26 June 2025, a substitute staff member without the required early childhood education (VVE) certificate was deployed in the VVE group, as a result of which the statutory staffing ratio (at least one qualified VVE professional per eight children) was not met. The location states that they consciously chose this arrangement to prevent closure and ensured that a certified colleague was present. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality to take enforcement action in accordance with the enforcement policy.
