About this care
At Welschap Kinderopvang, we offer a safe and trusted environment where children can develop to their full potential. Our daycare centers (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) are designed for children from 0 to 4 years old, with a focus on learning through play and social interaction. We believe every child is unique and encourage their development through a variety of activities suited to their age and interests.
Our preschool/toddler care is specially designed for children from 2 to 4 years old, where they have the opportunity to develop their motor and social skills. We offer a challenging and safe environment where children are free to play and explore. Our childcare professionals are engaged and create a relaxed atmosphere where children feel at ease.
For older children from 4 to 12 years old, we offer after-school care (BSO). Here they can come after school for fun and educational activities. We ensure a good balance between relaxation and development, with plenty of attention for exercise and outdoor activities. Healthy nutrition is a given for us, and we provide fresh fruit and healthy meals daily. At Welschap Kinderopvang, the needs of the child come first, and we work together with parents to ensure optimal development.Read more
GGD Inspection
Violations
Inspection date: June 2, 2026
Strengths
- Pedagogical practice is assessed positively
- Early childhood education meets all requirements, including the hours standard and staff-child ratio
- Safety and health policy and reporting code are in order
- Parents are well informed through the website and parent portal
- All staff members are properly registered in the persons register and hold a Certificate of Conduct (VOG)
Shortcomings
- The holder must continue efforts to recruit a parent committee
- Alternative parent consultation must actually be organized to ensure all parents are sufficiently involved in policy
Violations
- The pedagogical policy contained insufficient concrete description of the transfer of child records to primary school and after-school care (BSO) upon transition, and of identification and referral in case of developmental problems (resolved through recovery offer)
Summary
GGD Kennemerland conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 2 June 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Marel PO in Heemskerk. The toddler group accommodates a maximum of 32 children aged 2 to 4 years and is registered as an early childhood education facility. Overall, the location meets the quality requirements well. The pedagogical practice, early childhood education, safety and health policy, reporting code, and parent information are all in order. One violation was identified: the pedagogical policy lacked a concrete description of the transfer of child records to primary school and after-school care (BSO). The holder used a recovery offer and amended the policy, thereby resolving the shortcoming. A point of attention concerns the parent committee: no parent committee is currently active, and the alternative parent consultation planned for 2025 did not take place. The holder continues to make efforts to recruit members. No complaints have been reported.
