About this care
Welcome to KDV De Waterval, our bright and colourful daycare centre located at Belgiëlaan 2 in Beverwijk. We are part of Stichting Welschap Kinderopvang and provide care for up to 85 children from 0 to 4 years old. The centre is organised into seven groups: a quiet baby group for the youngest and vertical groups where children of different ages play and learn together. This allows toddlers to proudly help with babies and the little ones to learn from the older children.
At De Waterval everything revolves around experience and discovery. We offer a rich daily programme in which music, arts & crafts, language and nature take centre stage. Our professional staff create new challenges every day: from singing with the guitar to mud kitchens in the garden and from reading aloud in the cosy corner to excursions to the forest or petting zoo. We believe children learn about the world through play and therefore stimulate their curiosity and independence.
Our building is safe and clearly arranged. Each group has its own sleeping room with cots and beds so every child can rest when needed. The large garden invites running, cycling, sand play and water experiments. We provide everything young children need: nappies, wipes, bottle feeding, warm meals and healthy snacks. Parents do not need to bring anything.

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Waterval in Beverwijk provides care for 85 children aged 0-4 years in seven core groups. The annual unannounced inspection on 24 July 2025 demonstrates that the location meets all assessed quality requirements across the themes of pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health, and parental rights. The pedagogical policy is up-to-date and correctly implemented; pedagogical practice provides children with emotional security and developmental stimulation. All staff hold required Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG), language level 3F/B2, and childcare qualifications; one work-based learning (BBL) student is supervised in accordance with regulations. The reporting protocol for domestic violence and child abuse is known and actively used. Parents are well informed via website, app, and parent portal; there is an active parent committee that is satisfied with its say in decision-making and the quality of care. In 2024, a violation regarding the duty to report, consult, and file was identified; this shortcoming was resolved following a recovery offer. No violations or areas for improvement have now been identified. The report provides no grounds for enforcement action.
