About this care
Welcome to the daycare centre of IKC de Aquamarijn, located at Meerveldplein 4 in Almere. We provide care for children from 6 weeks to 4 years old in a warm, safe and stimulating environment. Our daycare is part of the Integral Child Centre (IKC) de Aquamarijn, where education, childcare and leisure come together under one roof. This means your child experiences a continuous development path without major transitions.
We follow one pedagogical vision, with a strong focus on joyful learning and development. Our qualified staff offer a wide range of activities tailored to your child’s age and developmental stage. These include language stimulation, creative play, outdoor exploration in our green garden with vegetable patch, and movement activities like toddler gym. We serve healthy, warm meals daily and provide nutritious snacks.
Parents are actively involved in their child’s care and development. Through the Konnect app, you receive daily updates with photos, reports and news about your child. You can also track sleep times, meals and diaper changes. Personal contact is important to us, and we regularly invite parents for meetings, tours and events.
Our facilities include modern sleeping areas, a secure indoor play space and a large outdoor garden where children can explore, play and grow. Everything is designed to meet the needs of young children, from bottle feeding and diaper changes to rest and stimulating play. Summary
The unannounced annual inspection visit on 27 February 2025 to daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) IKC Aquamarijn in Almere shows that the location is fully compliant with all legal requirements following a recovery offer. The pedagogical climate is positive: children experience emotional safety, there is a clear daily routine and staff work in accordance with the pedagogical policy. The early childhood education programme (VE) is well-structured with thematic working, parent involvement and appropriate materials. All staff hold the correct qualifications and Certificates of Good Conduct (VOG); staffing levels meet the required standards. The safety and health policy is in place and applied in practice, including first aid competence and emergency protocols. Three violations have since been resolved through a recovery offer on 21 March 2025: a missing concrete description of emotional safety during absence of regular staff, an insufficiently concrete early childhood education (VE) training plan, and an ongoing safety policy process that did not match practice. The municipality has been advised not to take enforcement action.
