Summary
Hero BSO Van Turnhoutpad provides after-school care (BSO) for children aged 8 to 13 at the Olympia sports complex in Haarlem. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 28 April 2025. The location largely complies with quality requirements: the pedagogical policy is concrete, the climate is safe and stimulating, all staff are qualified and registered, and staffing is adequate. Children experience considerable autonomy, outdoor activities, and appropriate guidance. There was one improvement point: the tasks and supervision of sports interns needed to be more explicitly detailed in the work plan; this has now been addressed following the GGD's recovery offer. A parent committee is not yet in place, but parents are being actively recruited. Group merging on school days previously occurred incidentally but has since been discontinued. The municipality is advised not to enforce, as all shortcomings have been resolved.
