Sporty after-school care (BSO) Cool After School was launched in September 2020 with one goal: to introduce children to various sports and support them under the guidance of qualified and enthusiastic childcare professionals. Cool After School encourages children to participate and is frequently found outdoors on the sports fields. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Kennemerland conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 9 July 2026 at after-school care (BSO) Cool After School S.V. DIO in Haarlem. The after-school care (BSO), located at sports association S.V. DIO, accommodates up to 30 children aged 4 to 13 and is characterised by a strong focus on sports and physical activity. Overall, the location meets the quality requirements well. There is a permanent, qualified team with no external temporary staff, sufficient attention to safety and health, and an active parent committee. During the inspection, several points for attention were addressed immediately, such as amending the complaints procedure and describing the pedagogical policy more concretely. There was one violation: the substantiation of the hours allocated to the pedagogical policy staff member/coach was insufficient. The provider was given a recovery offer for this, and the shortcoming was resolved during the inspection by submitting a careful hour distribution and calculation.
