About this care
Welcome to Heppienest, our small-scale daycare centre at Maliebaan 35 in Utrecht. Since 2011 we have been providing naturally good childcare for children aged 0 to 4. We are located in a monumental, bright building with large play areas and a dream garden where children can play and explore to their heart’s content.
Our close-knit team of qualified pedagogical professionals is ready every day with a big heart for children and a solid understanding of child development and parenting. Personal contact with parents is central to us; we believe that growing up and parenting is something you do together.
In 2016 we developed the Heppienest Life Line, through which we collaborate with pedagogues and offer parents parenting advice, sports and pregnancy courses. This creates an extra connection between our daycare centre and home.

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Heppienest B.V. in Utrecht was inspected unannounced by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) on 30 July 2026. The inspection focused on the pedagogical climate, staff, and groups. The location, with 68 childcare places and five groups, meets all assessed quality requirements under the Childcare Act. The pedagogical practice was assessed as adequate: staff respond to children with sensitivity and responsiveness, name their actions to ensure predictability, and stimulate children's development. The staff-to-child ratio was in order in all groups, and the Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) registration in the Childcare Personnel Register was correct. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The advice to the Municipal Executive is: no enforcement action.
