Summary

Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Regenboog in Nijmegen, part of KION Kinderopvang B.V., was inspected on 17 March 2026 by the Municipal Health Service (GGD) Gelderland-Zuid. The location, with 43 childcare places and two core groups, meets requirements in the areas of pedagogical practice, staffing, and stability of care. However, two violations were identified. The pedagogical work plan lacked concrete descriptions of working methods, group composition, and activities outside the core group. Additionally, one childcare professional temporarily lacked valid baby-specific training. Both shortcomings were remedied following a recovery offer. A third violation concerned a childcare professional who was not registered and linked in the Childcare Personnel Register (PRK) in a timely manner. Due to repeated recidivism at provider level, no recovery offer was given for this. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises enforcement for this final point.
