About this care
Welcome to De Albatros, our daycare centre located at Schepenlaan 176b in Zaandam. We are part of Stichting Wijde Wereld and provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in a bright and spacious building.
Our building features a central hall that provides access to four bright group rooms. Each group has direct access to the outdoor area, allowing children to easily go outside. The large garden surrounding the building is a special feature of our location. Here, children can play, explore and enjoy the fresh air.
We work with horizontal groups, where children are grouped by age. This provides peace and familiarity for the children and allows our pedagogical staff to effectively meet the developmental needs of each age group.
The transparent group rooms ensure plenty of natural light and an open atmosphere. We believe it's important that parents can see where their children are staying and that children feel safe and secure in a familiar environment.

The annual inspection by GGD Zaanstreek-Waterland on 10 April 2026 at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Albatros in Zaandam shows an overall positive picture. The location, part of TintelTuin BV, provides care for 51 children across four core groups. Almost all quality requirements were met. There was one violation: the procedure for combining groups was insufficiently described in concrete terms in the pedagogical policy plan. The location made use of the recovery offer and corrected this immediately. The pedagogical practice was assessed positively: there is attention for emotional safety, personal and social development, and norms and values. Staff and groups also perform well, with correct ratios, familiar faces and mentorship for each child. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality of Zaanstad not to take enforcement measures.
