At Villa West on Westzijde 254, we provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in two small vertical groups. Each group consists of a maximum of 10 children. Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Villa West in Zaandam was inspected unannounced on 14 January 2025. The pedagogical climate and personnel policy amply meet statutory requirements: the atmosphere is calm and warm, staff provide emotional security, stimulate development, and work according to a clear pedagogical plan. All staff are properly registered, trained, and receive annual coaching. However, there is one violation: a baby was put to sleep in a hammock, which according to JGZ guidelines is an unsafe sleeping place. The safety policy also insufficiently describes the risks of a hammock. The location replaced the hammock with an approved hanging cradle immediately after the visit. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality to enforce, though there is no question of closure; the improvement will be included in a follow-up inspection.
