About this care
Buitenschoolse opvang Top is located on the ground floor of primary school De Vreewijkschool at Groenezoom 156 in Rotterdam. We are part of childcare organisation De Maan and provide after-school care for up to 48 children aged 4 to 12. After school, children come together in a familiar, homely environment where they can play, relax and discover new things.
Our qualified staff pick up the children after school from De Vreewijkschool and from other partner schools such as De Akkers, Theresiaschool, Pniel and Pantarijn. The afternoon starts with a healthy snack and a quiet moment. Children can then choose from various activities: crafting in the studio, building with LEGO, playing games or enjoying the spacious, green playground we share with the school.
Structure and freedom alternate. We offer fixed daily routines with plenty of room for personal initiative. On Wednesdays, study days and during holidays we provide a warm, fresh meal. Fruit and drinks are always available. We take allergies and dietary requirements into account.

After-school care (BSO) Top (part of BSO De Maan Rotterdam B.V.) provides care for 48 children aged 4-13 at the Vreewijkschool in Rotterdam. The annual inspection visit on 24 November 2025 shows that the location scores well on almost all examined quality requirements: pedagogical policy and practice are in order, staff are qualified, Certificates of Conduct (VOGs) and person registration are complete, the staff-to-child ratio is correct, and the safety and health policy is up-to-date and adhered to. One violation was identified: not all staff members are familiar with the obligation to report, consult, and file official notifications in cases of suspected abuse or mistreatment by a colleague or the holder themselves. The organisation has already conducted multiple training sessions and information campaigns, but this proved insufficient to ensure all staff members know the correct procedure. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) therefore advises the municipality to enforce in accordance with the enforcement policy.
