About this care
Welcome to BSO Buitengewoon, part of KindeRdam Childcare. We are located in the canteen of korfball club OZC at Enk 190 in Rotterdam Vreewijk. Our location is an 8+ after-school care facility with space for up to 20 children.
What makes us special is our enormous outdoor play area with grass, artificial turf and an asphalt field where children can play sports and games. We believe playing and moving are very important. Therefore, we offer daily sports and games activities alongside other activities. We also undertake many activities in nature.
At BSO Buitengewoon we work closely together with BSO De Kantine, which is located on the same grounds. We offer a cozy environment where children feel safe. The relaxed atmosphere invites children to play freely or participate in various fun activities. We have an active children's council that is committed to all children.
Our opening hours are Monday through Friday from school dismissal until 6:30 PM. During school holidays we are open from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM.Read more

Strengths

Violations
- Safety and health policy: the provider is not acting in accordance with the established policy. Risk situations have been identified: cigarette butts and open rubbish containers at the entrance, an open back door allowing children access to uncontrolled areas, fans not being used at an indoor temperature of 26°C, and no shaded areas at an outdoor temperature of 27°C despite available parasols
- Parent committee: no parent committee has been established while this is mandatory for a location with more than 50 placement agreements (with mitigating circumstances due to alternative consultation arrangements)
Summary
The Municipal Health Service (GGD) Rotterdam-Rijnmond conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 18 June 2026 at BSO Buitengewoon in Rotterdam, an after-school care (BSO) for 40 children (ages 7-13). The majority of quality requirements were found to be in order, including pedagogical policy, pedagogical practice, staffing, accommodation, and complaints procedure. Previous shortcomings from 2025 have been resolved. However, two violations were identified: the safety and health policy is not consistently followed in practice (litter, open doors, no ventilation or shade during warm weather), and a mandatory parent committee is missing. Mitigating circumstances apply to the parent committee due to alternative consultation arrangements. The provider has taken additional measures, including mobile air conditioning units and tightened work instructions.
