About this care
Welcome to BSO ’t Padland, our cheerful after-school care located right inside primary school ’t Padland in the centre of Venhuizen. As soon as the last lesson ends, children simply walk over to us. The school is surrounded by greenery, so we love to head outside together—building dens, exploring nature, or just running and climbing on the large, adventurous playground.
Every week a fresh DoenKids activity schedule appears on the board. Children decide for themselves whether they feel like break-dancing in the gym today, organising a football tournament, making jewellery, or joining an exciting game. We believe their ideas matter: together we shape the programme so it matches their interests. We also offer before-school care, giving parents a calm start to the day.
When the school bell rings our pedagogical staff are ready. For safety and visibility the children wear bright vests. We pick up from ’t Padland (we share the same building) and from the Jozefschool. Through our own Partou app we keep parents updated—a quick message that all is well, a photo of a newly created artwork, or a brief hand-over at the end of the afternoon.
Every day is an adventure with us. We work from a strong pedagogical climate where every child feels safe and seen. Play, discovery and fun are at the heart of everything we do, so children go home with big smiles and plenty of stories.Read more

Summary
BSO t Padland in Venhuizen, part of Partou/Smallsteps, was inspected by GGD Hollands Noorden on 9 December 2025. The after-school care (BSO) accommodates a maximum of 22 children (ages 4-13) in a base group. Initially, not all requirements were met due to shortcomings in safety and health policy. The sandpit and sand play equipment in the public outdoor space were not safely covered or secured, allowing animals to enter. This created an unsafe and unhygienic situation. Following a recovery offer, additional agreements were made regarding inspection and use of the sand, recorded in the risk assessment and communicated to staff and parents. As a result, the requirements were subsequently met. Other aspects such as pedagogical policy, staff, accommodation, and parent information complied from the outset.
