About this care
BSO Monti Novi is a small-scale after-school care facility located at Overtonstraat 1B in Haarlem. We provide care for up to 10 children aged 4 to 10 years. Our centre is part of BSO Monteverdi and has been registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 May 2024.
Our BSO features one welcoming group space of 74 m², arranged with various play corners that invite exploration and play. We work with a fixed base group, and each child is assigned a personal mentor. This mentor is the consistent point of contact for both child and parents and closely follows the child's development.
The outdoor play area directly adjacent to our building is 9 m² and is supplemented by a nearby playground, ensuring children have ample space to play outside. We are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. At present, we do not offer care on Mondays and Fridays.
Our pedagogical staff are professionally trained and work according to a clear pedagogical policy that is discussed annually with the parent committee. We believe it is essential that children feel safe and secure, giving them the space to develop and gain new experiences.

Summary
Municipal Health Service (GGD) Kennemerland conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 12 March 2026 at BSO Novi in Haarlem, an after-school care (BSO) for a maximum of 18 children aged 4 to 12 years. The location does not meet all quality requirements. Strong points are the pedagogical policy, pedagogical practice, staff qualifications and sufficient staffing levels. However, violations were identified regarding safety and health, and parental rights. The safety and health policy was not evaluated and updated in a timely manner following the takeover, is not sufficiently location-specific, and is insufficiently implemented in practice for the transport of children. Parents were not informed about the policy to be followed. The operator received a recovery offer for both violations and submitted an action plan, but the shortcomings have not yet been fully resolved. The advice to the municipality is not to enforce, given the recovery actions taken.
