About this care
Welcome to BSO Het Paleisje Mathenesse, located at Sint-Jobsweg 14 in the heart of Rotterdam. As part of Het Paleisje Mathenesse B.V., we provide reliable after-school care for up to 20 children aged 4 to 12. Registered in the National Childcare Register (LRK: 195979229) since January 2, 2018, we operate under the supervision of the GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond.
We are open every weekday from 07:30 to 18:30. On request, opening hours can be extended to 07:00 – 19:00, giving parents maximum flexibility. Our vertical groups mix children of different ages, fostering social skills and mutual responsibility.
At Het Paleisje Mathenesse, children feel safe, at home, and inspired. Our experienced pedagogical staff create a warm, trusted environment with room for both relaxation and adventure. The site features its own outdoor playground where children can run, play sports, and explore after school. Creative activities, games, and downtime are all part of the daily routine.

Summary
Het Paleisje Mathenesse is an after-school care (BSO) in Rotterdam for children aged 4 to 13. This incidental inspection of 13 August 2026 examined whether the location could expand from 20 to 44 childcare places. The inspection assessed the pedagogical policy, safety and health policy, and the accommodation. All inspected quality requirements were found to be in order. The location has sufficient indoor space (152 m² divided across two groups) and outdoor space (a nearby playground plus a 476 m² rooftop terrace shared with the daycare center/kinderdagverblijf/KDV). Safe agreements have been made for simultaneous outdoor play. The permit holder has already adapted the pedagogical policy for the new group structure. No violations or areas for improvement were identified.
