About this care
BSO De Mheen is located right inside the public Jenaplan primary school De Mheen at Tormentilstraat 71 in Apeldoorn. We provide after-school care for 30 children aged 4 to 12. Children are picked up directly from their classrooms and walk with our qualified staff to the cosy BSO area within the same building. Here they can play, do crafts and run around. We make ample use of the safe school playground and the adjacent Mheen park. Fruit and drinks are always available; a hot meal can be provided on request. Summary
BSO De Mheen in Apeldoorn was inspected unannounced on 13 November 2025. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) confirms that the location meets all statutory quality requirements. The pedagogical climate is assessed positively: staff respond sensitively, provide structure, and playfully stimulate children's motor, cognitive, language and social development. All staff members hold a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG), are correctly registered in the PRK, and hold appropriate qualifications. The staff-to-child ratio was in order at the time of inspection and is structurally safeguarded. The safety and health policy is in order: the domestic violence reporting protocol is up to date and staff are aware of their reporting, consultation and filing obligations. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipal executive is advised not to take enforcement action.
