Wasko het Kompas BSO Scheepmakersstraat

BSO Het Kompas Scheepmakersstraat is a small-scale after-school care centre in the heart of Alblasserdam, located in the same building as the Protestant primary school Het Kompas. We welcome up to 18 children from grades 1 and 2 in one clear horizontal group. This set-up creates calm and familiarity and makes the transition from school to after-school care wonderfully smooth: the children literally stay in their trusted surroundings. Our vision is simple yet powerful: everything we do is decided in consultation with the children. After all, they know best what they need. From a positive, Christian perspective we discover their talents together and work in a structured way on their development. We believe that children flourish most in an atmosphere of trust, where they are free to experiment, allowed to make mistakes and can be proud of their own progress. During school weeks we offer rest and routine. We start with a shared moment, after which the children can freely choose from various activities that match their interests. During school holidays we surprise them with a special holiday programme full of exciting outings, creative projects and sporty challenges. Even then our starting point remains the same: decide together, experience together, grow together.
