Research by Leiden University has shown that children feel better in a small-scale environment: they feel more relaxed, safer, and enjoy activities more. Our childminders are pedagogically trained professionals who have been screened by us and registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang). We guide the entire process from finding a suitable childminder to the practical handling of contracts and childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag).

Christelijk Gastouderbureau De Herberg has 15 locations throughout the Netherlands with childminders (gastouders) in various regions. The Emmen, Assen, and De Kanaalstreek location specifically serves the Drenthe and De Kanaalstreek region with towns such as Assen, Emmen, Hoogeveen, Stadskanaal, and surrounding areas. Our network of Christian childminders is spread nationwide, so parents can usually find a childminder nearby.

Christelijk Gastouderbureau De Herberg is a recognized childminder agency (gastouderbureau) registered with the Municipal Health Service (GGD). All childminders (gastouders) are registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK), which entitles parents to childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). The GGD inspects our agency annually to check whether we meet all quality requirements of the Childcare Act. Inspection reports are publicly available. We carry out risk assessments at care locations, ensure the necessary documentation, and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
