Childminder agency (gastouderbureau) ViaViela is the largest childminder agency in the Netherlands with 40 locations spread across the entire country. Since its founding in 2005, our childminders (gastouders) have cared for more than 225,000 children. We offer small-scale childcare in a home-like environment where children feel safe and secure. ViaViela mediates between parents and professional childminders, providing personal guidance with a dedicated contact person in your region. We offer parents personal mediation to qualified childminders in a homely environment. You get a fixed contact person in your region who guides you from the first conversation until the care starts. Our childminders are carefully screened, are registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang), and receive regular pedagogical support. ViaViela also helps with the application for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) and offers a user-friendly online system for administration and communication.
Subsidy & costs
ViaViela offers extensive support with the application for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag). Childminder care via a recognized agency such as ViaViela is formal care for which parents can claim benefit from the Tax and Customs Administration. Our contact persons explain during the introductory meeting how the benefit works and make a personal calculation of the net costs. We help with filling in the required information and provide certainty about the amount of the parental contribution before the care starts. Parents receive monthly benefit for both the childminder fee and the agency fee for mediation and guidance.
Childminder care via ViaViela consists of two components: an hourly rate for the childminder (on average €6.25 to €8.95 per child per hour) and a monthly agency fee for mediation and guidance. The agency fee is an all-in rate without registration costs and depends on care hours, number of children, and region. Parents can apply for childcare benefit (kinderopvangtoeslag) for both components, which significantly reduces the net costs. ViaViela makes a personal calculation in advance so that parents have certainty about the monthly parental contribution. On average, childminder care is 20% cheaper than other forms of childcare.
Trust & screening
ViaViela carries out careful screening and selection of all childminders before they are presented to parents. Childminders must meet all legal requirements including diploma requirements (MBO-2 Helpende Zorg en Welzijn or equivalent), Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG-verklaring), and registration in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang). The care location is checked for safety and hygiene according to applicable regulations. After placement, childminders remain under supervision with at least two visits per year by the fixed contact person, continuous education, and support in the pedagogical field. The municipal health service (GGD) carries out additional inspections every two years.
ViaViela meets all legal requirements for childminder agencies and is registered in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK). Our childminders hold the required diplomas (MBO-2 Helpende Zorg en Welzijn or equivalent) and their care locations meet safety and hygiene regulations. The municipal health service (GGD) inspects childminders every two years and childminder agencies annually. ViaViela itself carries out at least two visits per year to every care location and provides continuous education to childminders. We have an internal complaints procedure according to the Childcare Act and work with protocols and guidelines from our knowledge guide.

ViaViela applies a pedagogical vision based on the four basic pedagogical goals of Prof. J.M.A. Riksen Walraven: providing emotional security, developing personal competence, developing social competence, and transferring values and norms. We believe that children need space to discover and take the lead in their own development, so that they grow up with self-confidence into independent individuals. Summary
ViaViela B.V. is a nationally operating childminder agency (gastouderbureau) with headquarters in Best, active in the De Kempen, Helmond, Geldrop, Nuenen, Laarbeek and Weert/Roermond regions. At the time of inspection, 63 childminder care (gastouderopvang) provisions were affiliated. The annual investigation on 23 October 2025 concerned an announced inspection during which documents were reviewed, a location visit took place and interviews were conducted with the national manager and two mediation employees. All examined domains meet the statutory requirements: general terms and conditions, pedagogical policy, personnel, safety and health, parental rights, and childminder agency quality. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises no enforcement.
