About this care
Welcome to Ukkepuk, our daycare center in Hoogvliet Rotterdam. We are located at Nieuwe Wetering 251 in the Tussenwater neighborhood, in the same building as primary school 't Prisma. As part of Stichting KindeRdam, we provide professional childcare for children aged 0 to 4 years.
At Ukkepuk, experienced pedagogical staff ensure a safe and stimulating environment for your child every day. With a maximum capacity of 16 childcare places, we can work on a small scale with personal attention. Our location features a spacious outdoor playground where children can play and explore.
We offer Early Childhood Education (VVE) through the Puk & Ko program. This program stimulates language development and broad development of young children. Through our collaboration with primary school 't Prisma, we can provide a good transition between our childcare and primary education.

Summary
The annual inspection by GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond on 28 May 2026 at childcare center Ukkepuk in Hoogvliet shows a predominantly positive picture. The toddler daycare for 16 children (ages 2-4), located in primary school 't Prisma, meets almost all quality requirements. The pedagogical practice is good: staff respond sensitively, stimulate development through play, and provide structure. The early childhood education according to the Uk & Puk method is well organized, with sufficient hours and qualified personnel. At the previous inspection (September 2025) there was a violation regarding the reporting, consultation and filing obligation; staff had insufficient knowledge of how to act in case of suspected abuse by the provider. This has since been resolved through training, team discussions and a flyer. There is no parent committee, but this is not mandatory for a maximum of 50 places; parents are informed and involved in other ways.
