About this care
Tierlantijn is home to a versatile daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) and two preschool/toddler care groups, together creating a warm and stimulating environment. The daycare center comprises no fewer than seven groups, each with a unique approach to meet the specific needs of different age groups.
Daycare Center (Kinderdagverblijf/KDV)
The three baby groups, Ibbeltje, Duizeltje and Pluis, are dedicated to the care and development of the very youngest. Here, babies receive all the attention and love they need in their first phase of life. The experienced staff in these groups are ready to support the little ones in their growth and discovery of the world around them.
For toddlers aged 2 to 4, the daycare center offers three lively groups: Abeltje, Minoes and Hagedis (3+). Each group has its own character and provides a playful environment where children can learn, discover and develop social skills. The professional pedagogical staff ensure that the little ones feel safe and secure, while being encouraged to follow their curiosity.
In addition to these groups, the daycare center also offers the flexible care group Pippeloentje. This group is designed to give parents the option of placing their children on varying days, allowing the daycare center to accommodate the diverse needs of families.
Preschool/Toddler Care (Peuteropvang)
The preschool/toddler care at Tierlantijn comprises two groups: Boekenwurm and Knots. Here, toddlers have the opportunity to play, learn and make new friendships in a structured environment that promotes their development in a playful way.

GGD Inspection
Improvements needed
Inspection date: July 13, 2026
Strengths
- Children's safety was ensured during the renovation
- The provider responded adequately by promptly adjusting the safety and health policy with risk descriptions following an urgent consultation
- Parents were subsequently informed in a timely manner about the policy to be followed during the renovation
- Constructive and solution-oriented attitude of the provider towards the Municipal Health Service (GGD) and municipality
Shortcomings
- Internal processes for reporting changes to the Municipal Health Service (GGD) and municipality need to be tightened
- The impact of renovations must be mapped out more carefully during the preparation phase
Summary
On 13 July 2026, GGD Hollands Noorden conducted an unannounced incidental investigation at daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) Tierlantijn in Broek op Langedijk. The investigation was prompted by a self-report from the provider regarding a previously unreported renovation to the roof and outdoor spaces. The renovation caused noise disturbance, resulting in restless groups, impaired ventilation, and children being unable to settle sufficiently. The provider had inadequately informed parents and staff in advance. During the investigation, it was found that the children were safe and that the provider had adjusted the safety and health policy with risk descriptions for the renovation. Parents had since been informed. All assessed conditions (safety policy and information obligation) were met. There was no recovery offer; the situation had already been corrected before the report was finalized.
