About this care
Welcome to SKSG Woelwater, a small-scale daycare center located at Admiraal Helfrichstraat 5 in Zuidhorn. Housed in a former home, we provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years. The cozy interior and French doors leading to the large garden create a homely atmosphere.
At SKSG Woelwater, we work with the VVE program Startblokken. This program stimulates language, motor, and social-emotional development through play. Our pedagogical staff connect with your child's interests and offer activities suited to their age and needs.
We work with two horizontal base groups: the purple group (0-2 years) and the green group (2-4 years). Specialized baby caregivers are available for the youngest children. Consistent familiar faces on the group ensure a trusted environment.
The location has its own garden with grass and a sandbox, accessible through French doors where children can play and explore freely. Feel free to visit for a tour and experience the atmosphere of SKSG Woelwater.Read more

- Staff-to-child ratios are generally correct

Violations

Summary
The annual inspection of 13 January 2026 of daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) SKSG Woelwater in Zuidhorn shows a predominantly positive picture. The small-scale location provides care for a baby group and toddler group with early childhood education (VVE). Almost all quality requirements were approved immediately, including pedagogical climate, staffing levels, and VVE implementation. However, a recovery offer was issued for a violation on the VVE group: on 7 January, only one childcare worker appeared to be scheduled with 9 children, whereas the rule stipulates a minimum ratio of 1 to 8. Within the recovery offer, the holder demonstrated that a second staff member was indeed present. Following this recovery, the location meets all statutory requirements. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality of Westerkwartier not to take enforcement measures.
