Welcome to Second Home Childcare at Curaçaostraat 4 in Almere. At this location we provide professional daycare for children aged 0 to 4 years. Our daycare center is open every weekday from 07:00 to 19:00, giving parents the flexibility to drop off and pick up their child without time pressure.

- CO2 level in De Dolfijntjes group of 2362 ppm, well above the maximum standard of 1200 ppm; staff did not act in accordance with the ventilation policy when the CO2 meter showed red; two of the five ventilation units were not functioning (remedied via recovery offer)
- Baby was placed on their stomach to sleep in a playpen, deviating from the safe sleeping protocol and guidelines to prevent cot death

Second Home Kinderopvang in Almere, a daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) for up to 32 children, was inspected unannounced on 10 July 2026 by GGD Flevoland. The location is compliant after recovery offer on all assessed quality requirements. There is a relaxed, positive atmosphere and the pedagogical policy is well implemented. Staff and groups meet the requirements. A recovery offer was issued due to serious air quality problems in the De Dolfijntjes group (CO2 level of 2362 ppm, far above the standard of 1200 ppm), caused by defective ventilation units. This was remedied through a plan of action and staff were re-instructed. Points of attention were also a baby placed on their stomach to sleep (not in accordance with protocol) and a BBL trainee with insufficient knowledge of the reporting code.
