About this care
At Zoople Velsen, we offer a warm and safe environment for children aged 2 to 12. Our toddler care (peuteropvang) is specially designed for children from 2 to 4 years old, where they can develop through play and interaction. We believe that children learn best when they are free to express themselves and explore. That's why we encourage their curiosity and self-confidence in a rich play-and-learn environment.
Our pedagogical approach focuses on creating a relaxed atmosphere where children feel safe. Our team observes and guides the children, so that they can develop optimally. We use the VVE programme Startblokken, which focuses on early language stimulation. For children who need extra support, we offer additional help.
At Zoople Velsen, we find it important that parents are involved in their children's development. We encourage strong collaboration with families, so that together we can contribute to the growth and development of every child. Our locations are spread across IJmuiden, Velsen-Noord, Velserbroek, Driehuis and Santpoort, and offer a safe and stimulating environment for all children.Read more

Summary
Peuterspeelzaal 't Piraatje in IJmuiden provides care for 32 children aged 2-4 years in two groups. The annual unannounced inspection on 18 September 2025 assessed the pedagogical climate, staff and groups, safety and health. All quality requirements were met: the pedagogical policy is in place and implemented, the pedagogical practice provides emotional security and development, early childhood education (voorschoolse educatie/VE) is set up according to the Startblokken programme with 960 hours of provision, all staff hold a valid Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and the correct VE qualification, the safety and health policy is up to date and adhered to, and the domestic violence reporting protocol (melcode) is known and applied. No violations or areas for improvement were identified. The municipality of Velsen is advised not to take enforcement measures.
