About this care
Welcome to De Twijn daycare, part of IKC De Twijn located at P.C. Stamstraat 2a in Nijverdal. We provide care for the youngest children in a homely atmosphere. Our professional childcare staff organize numerous challenging and development-oriented play activities for children up to 4 years old. Children can play in various themed corners and enjoy a spacious playroom with an adjacent living kitchen.
For the toddler group (2-4 years), we work with the Early Childhood Education (VVE) program Uk & Puk. This program extensively covers the first steps in arithmetic, language and social skills. Through a clear daily structure, your child gradually becomes familiar with the rhythm of primary school.
Our outdoor space offers plenty of opportunities for discovery and play. At the back is a special garden for daycare where the youngest children can play undisturbed and discover the world. We also use the sports hall and large kitchen that we share with the primary schools in the building, where children can learn to cook delicious dishes.
We work in small core groups: the Rascals (0-4 years) and the Scamps (2-4 years). This horizontal group structure ensures age-appropriate activities and guidance. We are open all week and offer flexible childcare options, including half days.
Feel free to drop by to see what we do! You are most welcome at De Twijn.Read more

Summary
Daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) De Twijn in Nijverdal, part of KOSMO West-Twente B.V., was inspected by GGD Twente on 14 January 2026. The unannounced annual inspection showed that the location meets statutory requirements in virtually all areas. The pedagogical climate is assessed as good: there is a relaxed atmosphere, staff are sensitive and responsive, and the Uk and Puk preschool programme provides structure to the day. Staffing and groups also comply, with correct staff-to-child ratios and good stability. There was one violation: the indoor space of the Bengels home group (ages 2-4) provided 3.4 m² per child instead of the mandatory 3.5 m², due to a change in rounding rules. The holder received a recovery offer and has indicated this will be resolved by reducing the number of childcare places to 15 as of 27 March 2026. The number of LRK places will be adjusted to 31 at the end of March 2026.
