About this care
Kinderopvang de Tantie’s is a small-scale daycare center located at Hoofdstraat 92 in Ter Apel. We provide care for children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely and familiar atmosphere. Our dedicated team of childcare professionals ensures that every child receives the attention they deserve. We work with vertical groups, where children of different ages play and learn together. This encourages social development and gives older children the opportunity to help the younger ones.
Flexibility and personal attention are central to our approach. We do not have fixed drop-off and pick-up times, allowing parents to bring and collect their child whenever it suits them. We are open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Our outdoor playground offers plenty of space to play and explore. We believe it is important that children feel safe and at home with us, so they can develop at their own pace.
Diapers are included in our care and we support bottle feeding. We work with a maximum of 13 children per day, with a caregiver-to-child ratio of 1:6. This ensures peace and overview in the group. Summary
GGD Groningen conducted an unannounced follow-up investigation on 16 February 2026 at kinderopvang de Tantie's in Ter Apel. This small-scale childcare facility accommodates 44 children, divided between daycare center (kinderdagverblijf/KDV) and after-school care (BSO) groups. Three domains that had previously been found non-compliant were reassessed. The pedagogical climate and staff and groups now meet legal requirements. The pedagogical policy plan now provides a concrete description of the transition to primary education and after-school care (BSO), as well as the procedure for merging core groups. The qualification requirements and staff-child ratio are also now in order. However, a violation was once again identified in the area of safety and health: the safety and health policy does not describe how this policy is made transparent and accessible to trainees. This shortcoming had already been identified in the previous investigation of 22 May 2025 and has not yet been resolved. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality of Westerwolde to take enforcement action.
