About this care
Welcome to childcare centre De Mispelbloem, part of Stichting Spelenderwijs in Doetinchem. As of 1 September 2025, we offer daycare for children aged 0 to 4 years, a toddler group, and after-school care, in close cooperation with Kindcentrum De Mispelbloem (primary school). The location is at Wolborgenmate 6 in the De Huet neighbourhood, in a beautiful new building with a wonderful natural play area.
Our daycare has 16 places in one vertical group for children aged 0 to 4 years. We also have a toddler group for up to 8 toddlers aged 2 to 4. We work with permanent pedagogical staff so your child feels safe and familiar. Our baby care is inspired by the Emmi Pikler approach, focusing on each baby's own pace and natural development.
The daycare is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30. We provide nappies, meals and drinks (except infant formula). Half days are possible subject to availability. Through the parent portal (Kidsadmin Ouderapp) you stay informed about your child's development and can easily communicate with the staff.
We use the recognised VVE method Startblokken and ensure a continuous development and learning path from age 0 through primary school. Our close collaboration with Kindcentrum De Mispelbloem ensures a smooth transition to group 1.Read more

Kindercentrum Avonturijn Doetinchem – De Huet (soon to be KDV De Mispelbloem) was inspected on 8 July 2025 in connection with an intended takeover by Stichting SpelenderWijs IJsselgraaf. The inspection assessed only the conditions that apply to a change of operator. No violations or deficiencies were identified; the organisation demonstrates that it will soon comply with laws and regulations. Key strengths include the presence of qualified staff, a clear pedagogical and safety policy, sufficient indoor and outdoor space (119 m² indoor, 72 m² outdoor), a dedicated sleeping area for babies, and a comprehensive complaints procedure linked to the Disputes Committee. Areas for improvement can only be identified at the next annual inspection, as only the situation on paper was assessed this time. No recovery offer is needed. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises the municipality of Doetinchem to approve the change in the National Childcare Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang/LRK).
