About this care
Welcome to Kids Society Erica, Jacob Catsstraat location, our daycare centre in the heart of Nuenen. We provide care for 94 children aged 0–4 in a modern, open building with spacious outdoor play areas. The site is part of the De Dassenburcht child-centre campus, allowing us to offer a seamless continuum from baby to preschooler.
Our five horizontal daycare groups – Orange Guppies, Blue Peacocks, Purple Butterflies, Golden Lions and Green Chameleons – each focus on their own age level. Our pedagogical policy centres on growth, development, happiness and fun. All staff are trained in early childhood education (VVE) and provide tailored activities such as language and numeracy sessions, creative workshops in our in-house studio, sports and games in our indoor theatre, and plenty of outdoor play in the nearby woods.
Babies receive bottle feeding, nappies and peaceful naps in separate sleep rooms. Toddlers enjoy a bread meal and healthy snacks; we accommodate allergies and special diets. Parents experience us as an extension of their family; we share daily observations and work closely together. The pedagogical climate is good; the pedagogical policy is clear and the practice provides children with emotional security, developmental stimulation and clear structure. Staffing levels, group size, use of Dutch as the spoken language and stability of core groups also meet the standard. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) advises against enforcement and proposes adjusting the number of registered childcare places in the National Register from 94 to 76.
