About this care
Welcome to SDK Toermalijn, our atmospheric daycare center located in the peaceful Dubbeldam neighborhood of Dordrecht. We provide daycare for children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely and warm environment that immediately feels familiar. Our location is cozily furnished and offers plenty of space to play and grow.
At SDK Toermalijn we work with two daycare groups for children aged 0-2 years and three groups for children aged 2-4 years. Children can enjoy playing and developing here: we read books together, color, play with clay, do crafts and spend lots of time playing outside. We eat and drink together and when needed, children take an afternoon nap. We work with overarching themes according to Uk & Puk – a recognized preschool education program that stimulates the development of young children.
Outside there is plenty of greenery, multiple sandboxes and a real water pump. The spacious outdoor playground offers ample opportunities to run, romp and discover nature. The safe and challenging outdoor space is an extension of our indoor areas where children can move freely.

Strengths
- Pedagogical quality is good: staff act sensitively and responsively, and stimulate children's development
- Well organized: early childhood education with an accredited programme, sufficient hours and qualified staff
- Staff work in accordance with the pedagogical policy plan
- Sufficient knowledge of the child abuse reporting code and obligations to report, consult and file charges
- The pedagogical policy staff member/coach for early childhood education (VE) has been sufficiently deployed
- All staff hold the correct qualifications, Certificate of Conduct (VOG) and are registered in the Childcare Personnel Register
- Someone with a valid first aid (EHBO) qualification is always present
Violations
- The safety and health policy and risk inventory and evaluation (RI&E) did not describe the serious risk 'falling from height/falling from play equipment' as a serious risk for the climbing frame in the Diamant group, meaning that corresponding measures were also missing (rectified on 24 August 2026)
